Easter Events To Take The Kids To This Long Weekend


Still unsure how to keep the kids entertained throughout the upcoming Easter long weekend? Fear not, because we have compiled a list of all of the great events happening around Brisbane from Thursday to Monday, to entertain the kids, fill your bellies with chocolate, and make the most of this delicious holiday.

Easter Egg Hunt and Craft Village

Where: Browns Plains Grand Plaza

When: Thursday 29th March from 3pm - 6pm

Members of Vicinity Kids can decorate an Easter Egg Basket in the craft village outside of Coles, followed by an Easter Egg Hunt around the centre from 3.30pm. This event is free for Vicinity Kids members and bookings can be made by called 3800 7700.

Free Easter Egg Hunt and Craft Activity

Where: Mt Ommaney Centre

When: Thursday 29th March from 3.30pm - 6.30pm

Get ready to hop your way around Mt Ommaney Centre with their free Easter Egg Hunt and Craft Activity. Egg hunt times are: 4pm, 4.30pm, 5pm, 5.30pm, 6pm, and 6.30pm. Be sure to arrive 30 minutes before your Egg Hunt time so you have plenty of time to decorate your own Easter Egg Basket to collect them in. The basket making activity is open from 3.30 - 6pm.

Easter Egg Hunt

Where: Event Cinemas Browns Plains, Loganholme, and Garden City

When: Friday 30th March - Tuesday 2nd April

Easter Eggs hunts will be held at the cinemas each day for the first sessions of Peter Rabbit, Sherlock Gnomes, and Early Man.

Free ‘Finding Dory’ Screening

Where: Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

When: Friday 30th March at 6.30pm

Kids can enjoy free jumping castles, easter egg handouts, face painting and the screening of ‘Finding Dory’ while you relax with food stalls and a few drinks from Riverside Cafe.

Festival of Sails

Where: Marine Parade, Redcliffe

When: Friday 30th March from 8am - 4pm

Families can enjoy a whole day of Easter-themed free entertainment and activities. Kids will love the free workshops and activities like the giant Easter egg hunt, rides and amusements, and the sky-diving Easter Bunny. Parents can enjoy roaming through the hundreds of market stalls and the live music and entertainment from two stages.

North Brisbane Easter Festival 2018

Where: Mitchelton Park

When: Friday 30th and Saturday 31st March from 10am - 7pm

The North Brisbane Easter Festival will be free and family friendly with jumping castles, inflatable soccer field, a petting zoo, a graffiti wall, face painting, balloon animals, food vendors, crafts, games, competitions and more. There will also be a large marque and stage with musicians and dancers scheduled to perform.

Easter at Bunnings

Where: Bunnings Logan Road

When: Saturday 31st March from 10am - 2pm

Easter Saturday at Bunnings will include hot cross buns, easter egg hunts, DIY workshops, self serve kids and tweens craft tables, minute to win it games and more! The Easter Bunny will be visiting and if you’re in store at 11.30am or 1.30pm you’ll be in for a surprise.

Spot the Easter Bunny

Where: Cornubia Shopping Centre

When: Saturday 31st March from 10am - 2pm

Take the kids to have their photo taken with the Easter Bunny. There will be free chocolate eggs for everyone who visits.

Easter Sunday Family Fun Day

Where: Victoria Park Golf Complex

When: Sunday 1st April from 10am - 2pm

A wonderful selection of activities for families will be offered at Victoria Park Golf Complex including jumping castles, sack races, tug of war, petting zoos, face painting, and other giant games. The Easter Bunny is set to visit throughout the day with his basket of goodies, alongside live music and a chocolate Easter Menu from the Victoria Park Bistro.

Free Easter DIY Crafts at IKEA

Where: IKEA Logan

When: Monday 2nd April

Take the kids to make their own Easter hat at Ikea Logan’s DIY craft workshop.
